S-type thermocouple/platinum rhodium thermocouple
S-type thermocouple/platinum rhodium thermocouple
Product details
The S-type thermocouple is a precious metal thermocouple with a division number of S, hence it is called a platinum rhodium 10 platinum thermocouple. The nominal chemical composition of its positive electrode (SP) is platinum rhodium alloy, with a platinum content of 90% and a rhodium content of 10%. The negative electrode (SN) is pure platinum, hence it is commonly known as a single platinum rhodium thermocouple. The S-type thermocouple mainly measures the temperature of the medium between 0-1600 ℃, with a long-term maximum operating temperature of 1300 ℃ and a short-term maximum operating temperature of 1600 ℃. The S-type thermocouple has the highest accuracy, best stability, wide temperature measurement range, and long service life in the thermocouple series. Therefore, S-type thermocouples that comply with international temperature standards have long been used as interpolation instruments for international temperature standards. Although ITS-90 stipulates that they will no longer be used as interpolation instruments for international temperature standards in the future, the International Temperature Advisory Committee (CCT) believes that S-type thermocouples can still be used to approximate international temperature standards.
